Power Query for Finance

     Duration: 60 minutes
     Format: Interactive webinar

Data rarely arrives in our inboxes in the format required; if you spend tedious hours each month manipulating and consolidating data, Microsoft's Power Query add-in may become your new best friend. Don't let its simple, friendly user-interface fool you: there's some serious welly in this engine. With a brand new formula language under the hood, it's no shocker that this little beauty serves as the perfect sidekick to analytical powerhouses like Power Pivot. What you may not realise, though, is that Power Query has just as much to offer when all you need is a way to speed up your daily data management chores in Excel.

The Power Pivot and Power Query series is in 7 parts. Each part is a one-hour webinar. Attend any or all. Book all 7 for 10% off. See Power Pivot agenda

  • Install the Power Query add-in
  • Reshape and unpivot data for Power Pivot analysis
  • Send Power Query results to the Data Model in XL10
  • Consolidate multiple sheets within a single file
  • Automate the consolidation of all text files within a folder
  • Write a function to manipulate and consolidate Excel files
  • Nest M functions to make queries relative
  • Generate a date table with Power Query
  • Run M code from a text file

There are no prerequisites, although a familiarity with basic Power Pivot concepts such as the Data Model will be necessary if you want to use Power Query in combination with Power Pivot.
